Fiber internet works differently from fixed wireless. Rather than transmitting a signal from a tower to your home, fiber runs a physical cable made of thin glass strands directly to your address. Data travels through those strands as pulses of light, which is why fiber consistently delivers the fastest speeds available for home internet.The most important difference for day-to-day use is symmetrical speed. On a fiber connection, your upload speed matches your download speed. That matters if you host video calls, back up files to the cloud, share large documents for work, or stream content to viewers rather than just watching it.
Fixed wireless and satellite connections typically have upload speeds that are a fraction of the download rate.Fiber cables run underground or on utility poles and are not affected by weather or by line-of-sight limitations. Is fiber affected by weather?
No. Fiber cables run underground or on utility poles and are not affected by rain, snow, or wind. This is one of the key reliability advantages over fixed wireless or satellite internet, both of which can experience signal degradation in severe weather.

Viaero fiber requires professional installation. Before scheduling, a site survey is conducted to confirm serviceability at your address. Once approved, a Viaero technician installs the connection.

Fiber availability depends on whether Viaero’s fiber network has reached your specific location. If fiber is not yet available in your area, Viaero wireless home internet may be an option in the meantime.
