Frequently Asked Question About Viaero’s Plans
What's the difference between Viaero's Better, Best, and Ultra Unlimited plans?
All three include unlimited nationwide talk, text, and data, plus calling to and from Canada and Mexico. The difference is streaming quality and hotspot data. Better streams at roughly DVD quality (480p) with unlimited 3G hotspot. Best moves up to HD (720p) streaming with faster, higher-capacity hotspot data. Ultra is the top tier, with HD+ (1080p) streaming and the most hotspot data. For most people who browse and stream on the go, Better is plenty. If you tether a laptop or stream HD video regularly, Best or Ultra is the better fit.
Do I have to sign a contract with Viaero?
All Viaero wireless plans require a service agreement, but most plans carry no long-term contract. A purchase contract is only required if you finance a discounted phone through a promotion or the Viaero NOW! installment plan. Bring your own device or pay full retail for a phone, and there’s no purchase contract, just an activation fee and Viaero’s standard service terms.
What happens when I travel outside Viaero's coverage area?
Viaero does not charge roaming fees anywhere in the United States, Canada, or Mexico. Outside Viaero’s four-state home network (Colorado, Nebraska, Wyoming, and Kansas), your phone connects automatically to Viaero’s nationwide partner networks, so your talk, text, and data keep working. Student Unlimited, Lifeline, and some Prepaid plans are exceptions.
Do Viaero plans include calling to Canada and Mexico?
Yes, on most plans. Better, Best, and Ultra Unlimited, ShareMore, and Prepaid Unlimited all include calling to and from Canada and Mexico with no roaming fees while you’re in those countries. Student Unlimited covers nationwide US calling and data only. For travel beyond North America, Viaero’s GlobalConnect add-on ($10/month) covers calling to nearly all countries and data roaming in over 120.
What is a mobile hotspot, and do Viaero plans include one?
A mobile hotspot lets your phone share its cellular connection with other devices over Wi-Fi. All of Viaero’s unlimited plans include hotspot data, and the high-speed allotment increases from Better to Best to Ultra. Once you use your plan’s high-speed hotspot allotment for the month, hotspot speeds drop, but your phone’s own data stays unlimited.
Does Viaero slow down my data?
Viaero only reduces speeds if the network is congested. High-speed hotspot data has a monthly cap and drops to slower speeds once you hit it, but on-phone data is not deprioritized the way it typically is on budget tiers from major carriers.
Can I add lines or set up a family plan with Viaero?
Yes. Per-line pricing drops as you add lines. Current promotions include multi-line bundles at a reduced combined rate (for example, four Better Unlimited lines for $100/month). You can add lines at signup or later by contacting Viaero or visiting a store.
Can I bring my own phone (BYOD) to Viaero?
Yes. Bringing a qualifying unlocked phone saves you $10/month for up to 36 months, up to $360 total. The BYOD promotion requires an unlocked handset purchased directly from Apple, Samsung, or Motorola and activation on a new line of unlimited service. Student Unlimited is excluded. Activation is handled by phone or in-store, often via eSIM.
Can I keep my phone number when I switch to Viaero?
Yes. Keep your current service active until the port completes, and have your account number and transfer PIN from your old carrier ready. A Viaero team member can walk you through it by phone or in a store, and porting a number often earns a credit for the activation fee.
Who qualifies for the Student Unlimited plan?
The Student Unlimited plan is for K-12 students. A valid student ID is required, and a parent or legal guardian must own the account. No credit approval is needed. The plan is priced at $21.50/month, with a free phone available on a 36-month installment. It covers unlimited nationwide talk, text, and data, but does not include calling or roaming in Canada, Mexico, or other countries, and is not eligible for the BYOD promotion.
How does autopay work, and does it affect my monthly rate?
Viaero’s advertised plan prices reflect an autopay and eBill discount. You set up autopay through your online account at myviaero.com, where you can also view your bill and manage your plan.
