Our Story
The company was founded and began doing business as Cellular One of Northeast Colorado after being awarded a cellular license by the Federal Communications Commission.

After organic coverage and subscriber growth, Viaero achieved top listing status for “most towers per capita.” (53 towers serving a population of 65,000).
Acquired Nebraska Wireless and began major network expansion into Nebraska. The Viaero brand name was adopted.
Purchased additional spectrum in both Kansas and Wyoming. Viaero was the exclusive sponsor for the Comstock Music Festival in Comstock, Nebraska.
Added Blackberry devices to the Viaero product line. Viaero became the presenting sponsor of the Tri-City Storm Hockey Club in Kearney, Nebraska.
Completed construction of Viaero’s 41st retail location and its 384th telecommunications tower. Viaero’s coverage area extends to over one million rural residents of Colorado, Nebraska, Kansas, and Wyoming.
Added Android devices to the Viaero product line. Viaero tested HSPA+ technology in the hopes of upgrading the network to 4G.
Added iPhone devices to the smartphone product line with an initial expansion of the 4G HSPA+ network. Extended presenting sponsorship of the Viaero Center in Kearney, Nebraska.
Continued 4G expansion by upgrading 160 more telecommunication towers, bringing Viaero’s 4G network to 72% overlay completion. Added 40 additional towers within Viaero’s coverage areas.
Added Apple iPad product line with the Apple iPad Air and iPad Mini with Retina Display to complement our Samsung Galaxy tablet product line. Viaero also completed its 4G HSPA+ network upgrade across all wireless towers before the year’s end. Launched 1st Fiber run in Ft. Morgan.
Launched LTE technology for mobile phones and internet service. Started the Viaero Weather Camera Network, partnering with ABC Network Television stations in Denver (Denver7), Colorado Springs (KDVR), and Kearney, Nebraska (NTV). Began with over 80 camera locations across the network and added approximately 25 new towers to service areas.
Viaero Wireless added 75 new towers over the past three years, in addition to continuing an update of all towers in the network. Built out Fiber from Ft. Morgan to Scottsbluff NE, Grand Island NE. and LaJunta CO. Began engineering Denver to Sand Creek to be completed 2019. Viaero Wireless partners with Dish Networks and announces new unlimited entertainment plans for the holiday season. Extended presenting sponsorship of the Viaero Center in Kearney, Nebraska, through 2022.
AT&T selects Viaero Wireless as a FirstNet First Responder nationwide network partner. 409 of Viaero’s 1,000 towers will host the FirstNet equipment.
Viaero expands high-speed internet coverage to over 40 communities within its network. Launched Viaero Fiber Networks in Ft. Morgan, Colorado.
Viaero Wireless developed programs for furloughed employees negatively impacted by the federal government shutdown. Viaero responds to communities in Nebraska affected by severe flooding by providing discounted 24-month plans and billing assistance.
Viaero became the Title Sponsor of the Pioneers Baseball college league in Scottsbluff, Nebraska.
Created ConnectED and Student Unlimited plans, providing thousands of children with free phones and hotspots to help provide broadband service to schools and students impacted by Covid-19. Viaero signs a government pledge to keep cell phone service connected to those impacted by the pandemic.
Viaero opens a new store in Limon, Colorado, offering cellular, high-speed internet, and fiber to business. Viaero initiates the rollout of fiber to home internet service in Champion, Nebraska. The company becomes the exclusive sponsor of the NEBRASKALand Days concert series.
Viaero opens a new store location in York, Nebraska. Upgraded and added 24 new towers, implemented Stir & Shaken technology to reduce the number of robocalls. Rolled out fiber in Akron, Colorado, and Broken Bow and Grand Island, Nebraska. Viaero participates in the FCC’s EBB program to help keep families connected during the pandemic.
Viaero Wireless owns and operates over a 1,000 towers, thousands of miles of fiber, over 150,000 lines of cellular and internet service, and 35,000 business lines of cellular and internet service.
